JavaFX is a new Java technology being developed by Sun that enables rich internet application on desktops. JavaFX Mobile is a mobile version of that, and it includes the OS. Sun got lot of Java OS related IP when they acquired SavaJe. Now an all Java OS is definitely going to be a hit because of the number of applications it can support. Add JavaFX to that, now you have a powerful platform that can compete with Flash and Silverlight.

Yahoo Go! 2.0 is reportedly using on JavaFX Mobile scripting and apparently at Javaone conference, OpenMoco phone was presented with UI based on JavaFX Mobile. Sun’s definitely got something brewing with JavaFX!!
