Devices- Cellphones, Devices- Handheld, Devices- Set-top boxes, Mobile phones July 20th, 2008

According to the data collected by Consumer Electronics Association, the CE revenue will grow by 10% this year to $700 billion. Some of the segments such as TV are expected to show 20% growth. I don’t see any reason why this will market will ever stop to grow till no more CE devices can be invented. CE devices have become toys and we are slowly being brainwashed into having a new device every few years. In fact they are not even designed to last more than a few years. Do you think your iPod is rugged enough to last 10-15 years? How many of you have used your cell phone last for 5 years? ......continue reading

Devices- Cellphones, Devices- iPhone, Operating Systems July 11th, 2008

I generally went to Samsung Instinct web site to get a feel for the phone. I was very impressed by the features but it kept reminding me of iPhone at every step. It is hard to believe that Samsung has managed to copy iPhone in almost all aspects. Its size is similar to iPhone, the touch keypad is identical, the UI is similar to iPhone, and to be honest it has more features than iPhone- Live TV for example. ......continue reading
