JavaFX is a new Java technology being developed by Sun that enables rich internet application on desktops. JavaFX Mobile is a mobile version of that, and it includes the OS. Sun got lot of Java OS related IP when they acquired SavaJe. Now an all Java OS is definitely going to be a hit because of the number of applications it can support. So I have been following Linux configurations available for mobile devices and have blogged about LiMo a while ago. There are several other Mobile Linux configurations available for cellphones including Google Android which is based on Linux. iPhone SDK is also unix based, and OpenMoko is the other open source Linux.
